Judiciary: Saudi Arrest of Iranian Cleric ‘Illegal’
TEHAN – Iran’s judiciary on Tuesday denounced the arrest of an Iranian cleric in Saudi Arabia who shared a video criticizing the kingdom.
Gholamreza Qassemian, who is in the kingdom for hajj, was arrested on Monday after posting a video online in which he heavily criticized Saudi Arabia for what he called enabling moral corruption. Iran’s judiciary said Qassemian’s arrest was “unjustified and illegal.”
